While we encourage full paper submissions (for publication in the digiTAL 2025 conference proceedings), the conference also accepts abstract submissions, allowing authors the flexibility to publish their full paper in a journal of their choice post the conference.

Presentation Types

Paper Presentation

Presentations last 15 minutes, followed by 5 minutes for interaction with participants through questions or discussion.

PechaKucha

A storytelling format in which a presenter shows 20 slides for 20 seconds of commentary each.

Workshop

Workshops last 60 minutes and are opportunities to facilitate a conversation, or to demonstrate effective educational development practices. Workshop proposals should include both a 500 word abstract and a workshop facilitation plan. Creative and engaging workshops are encouraged, and diverse formats are welcome.

Posters Presentation

Posters will be displayed during a breakfast session where poster presenters can engage with conference participants. Posters may feature emerging or completed research and/or topics that inspire critical discussion and engagement with educational development topics. Poster size should not exceed A0 size portrait format.

Panel Discussion

Panel discussions last 60 minutes and serve to explore a topic from different perspectives. Panels that involve representatives from multiple countries and students are particularly encouraged. Panels should feature at least four participants; these should be named in the submission. Both the added value of the panel format and the plan for ensuring interaction with the audience should be described in the abstract. All panellists must register for either the full conference, or for the day of their panel discussion (we will contact accepted panellists regarding their respective panel dates).

Abstract Submission Instruction

Abstract Body

An extended abstract (200 to 350 words) which highlights the:

  1. focus of the study,
  2. relevance of the study/ contribution to knowledge,
  3. methodological approach adopted
  4. key findings (anticipated)/ key aspects to be covered

Full Paper Format

Paper Format

  • Size A4 with margins of 2.54cm all around.
  • The main body of the text should be in Calibri 11 point, single spaced and fully justified.
  • Do not insert headers, footers or page numbers.
  • Do not refer to page numbers in your text as these will be changed.

Figures and Tables

  • Should be placed as close to their reference point in the text as possible.
  • All figures and Tables must have titles and must be referenced from within the text.
  • No colour diagrams as the proceedings will be printed in black and white. Images must be inserted as picture files (.gif, .jpg, .bmp, .pct, .png, .psd).

Paper Title

  • Title of the paper must be in Calibri, 12 Point font, bold, centre aligned, at the top of the first page only.

Paper Length

  • Papers must not exceed 5000 words in length figures, references and appendices.

References

  • References should follow the APA referencing style.
  • No footnotes.

Paper Submission

Paper Abstract

  • A 250 word abstract should follow in Calibri, 10 point, single spaced and fully justified
  • Include up to 6 keywords or phrases in Calibri, 9 point, italic, single spaced and fully justified

Important Notice !!!

  • Papers should be proof read. Papers having a number of typographical errors may be rejected by the technical committee, or requested to provide a professional language editing certificate before publication (please contact us if you require assistance with locating an editor).
  • Once papers are submitted changes will not be accepted as the review process begins as soon as the paper is submitted.
  • Papers are double blind reviewed and all author details must be removed during the initial submission, for the review process.

Paper Publication

It is planned to publish the peer reviewed and selected papers of conference as proceedings with Springer. For detailed instructions for author and editors of conference proceedings, kindly visit the following link: https://www.springer.com/in/authors-editors/conference-proceedings/conference-proceedings-guidelines. Select papers from the conference will be published by Springer as a proceedings book volume. Springer will conduct quality checks on the accepted papers and only papers that pass these checks will be published. Springer Nature does not charge any money for publication of Non-Open Access content. Abstracts/extended abstracts and short papers (less than 4 pages) are not considered for publication.
